There is a certain kind of strength that only comes from waiting.
Watching the person you love sail away, holding on to the hope that your family, your home, and your heart will remain whole until they return. For over a decade, that was my life as a Navy wife. Those years shaped me in ways I’m still discovering and planted the roots for everything ToyMo Creative would eventually become.
This is that story.
The Years That Built Me

Being a Navy wife is anything but passive. You become the planner, the problem-solver, and the steady anchor for your family. You figure out how to keep everything running smoothly, even when life feels uncertain, and find joy in the small moments despite the weight of it all—until that long-awaited reunion comes. Along the way, I learned to tackle repairs on my own, pushing my creativity further than I ever imagined.
I did that for over a decade, and somewhere in the midst of it all, I stumbled upon something unexpected: a creative voice that just wouldn’t stay silent.”
I’ve always felt that faith and creativity go hand in hand. The same God who gives us strength in hard times also blesses us with gifts to share with the world. For a long time, I pushed mine to the side. Life was full. There was always something more urgent.
“Ultimately, your calling has a way of finding you, no matter how long you ignore it.”
A Book That Changed Everything
It started with a book. My book — I Lived, I Fought, I Won — was born out of a need to tell the truth about what I had been through. The struggles. The faith. The moments I wasn’t sure I would make it, and the moments I realized I already had.
Writing it was one of the hardest yet most liberating things I’ve ever done. When it ended, I felt something inside me change. After pouring my entire story into a book and sharing it with the world, I began to wonder what else I might be capable of. It’s simply an introduction to me as a new, upcoming author.
The answer, it turned out, was a lot.
ToyMo Creative grew naturally from that same place of honesty and purpose. I wanted to create things that carried the same spirit as my book — pieces that reminded people of their own strength, their own resilience, their own worth. Not just products. Reflections.
Designing for the Everyday Hero
I think about the people I design for often. The nurse on her twelfth hour who wraps her hands around a warm mug and needs something to remind her that what she does matters. The veteran’s family that carries a quiet pride the world doesn’t always see. The grandmother pouring love into her grandchildren every single day. To the woman facing a difficult time, remember — you are not alone.
Those are my people. “I carefully design each mug, hoodie, and piece of jewelry in the Steady Anchor™ collection with them in mind.”
I am a proud grandmother myself. Furthermore, I understand what it feels like to want to leave something behind.. Something that says: I was here, I created this, and I made it for you.
ToyMo Creative is my legacy. It’s built on the same foundation that carried me through my years as a Navy wife—faith, resilience, and the belief that creativity is one of our greatest strengths.
